CEPSE Graduate Admission
Admission Information
  • Bachelor's Degree -- A bachelor's degree is required for admission into graduate programs in CEPSE. There may be a requirement of a master's degree for certain Ph.D. programs (please see individual program descriptions).
  • Grade Point Average (GPA) -- A minimum average of at least a 3.00 (B) in the third and fourth years of undergraduate study.
  • Lifelong Credits -- A maximum of 10 Lifelong Graduate (LG) Credits earned while under the Lifelong Education status may be transferred into a graduate program. Each program has different requirements and may allow less or may not accept any Lifelong Graduate Credits.
  • Time Limit -- The time limit requirement for master's programs is five calendar years from the date of enrollment in the first course included for degree certification. Doctoral students must pass all comprehensive examinations within five years and all remaining requirements for the degree must be completed within eight years from the date of the first MSU doctoral class in the program of study.
  • Completion of Admission -- Students enroll in classes the semester you are admitted into the program. Enrollment in classes for the semester of admissions completes the admission process. After acceptance into the program, you are issued a Personal Identification Number (PID) and a Personal Access Number (PAN), allowing you to enroll in classes.
  • Application Materials -- Send all application materials at the same time to the appropriate location listed in the program materials. Check must be included.
